Important Message - Public Facilities

A Message from the City of Mineral Point

The City of Mineral Point is proud to provide many public facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy, including park shelters, restrooms, athletic courts and fields, the public pool, and City Hall. These facilities are maintained daily by City staff to ensure they remain clean, safe, and accessible for everyone.

Unfortunately, we have recently experienced a significant increase in vandalism and misuse of City property, particularly in public restrooms. Incidents have included graffiti and writing on walls and fixtures, damage to drywall and equipment, excessive waste of supplies, and other unsanitary conditions that require extensive cleanup and repairs.

This behavior is unacceptable and places an unnecessary burden on City staff. Time and resources spent repairing damage and cleaning up prevent our staff from focusing on other important services that benefit the community.

We are asking all residents and visitors to help us protect these shared community assets by treating them with respect and reporting any vandalism or misuse that you may witness.

Our goal is to keep these facilities open and accessible to the public. However, if the damage and abuse continue, the City may be forced to limit access to certain facilities or adjust operating hours.

If you witness vandalism or suspicious activity, please contact the Mineral Point Police Department.

Thank you for helping us keep Mineral Point's public spaces clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone
